145°C MELTDOWN! 😱 SAVING A ‘STONE-COLD DEAD’ NINTENDO SWITCH V1 (SHORT VERSION)

In this video, I’m breaking down a complete repair on a stone-cold dead Nintendo Switch V1 that refuses to take a charge. We go from initial teardown and diagnostics using a USB tester to hunting down a massive short that caused a literal meltdown on the board.

The Diagnostic Journey
We start with the basics, using a USB-C tester and the Mechanic USB tail insertion tester to check for signs of life. When a console pulls zero amps, it’s a clear signal that something is blocking the power rail. Using FlexBV Pro in butterfly mode, I’m able to trace the fault from the USB-C port straight to the charging fuse and the M92T36 chip.

The “Monster” Under the Thermal Camera
Things got intense when I discovered a component hitting a staggering 145°C. That’s enough heat to start melting thermal pads! The culprit? A total meltdown of the BQ24193 battery charger chip. I’ll show you how to safely remove this “monster” and install a fresh replacement without scorching the surrounding plastic
